We have recently had a customer referred to ourselves by one of their family as they had an ongoing issue with a vehicle. It was great to rectify the car in a very short timeframe and see the delight on the customers face when a member of the service team quoted a price to have the work carried out. (is that all)!!!
The customer then shared the vehicles most recent service records from one of the local independent garages. Unfortunately, the vehicle had been what I can only descried as over serviced. In 2018-2019 the garage had charged the customer for major services on both occasions. If the vehicle was even due a major service in 2018 the majority of components replaced would not have been due again until 2022 or another 40,000 miles. The customer has been made to pay for work not required. The estimated saving for the customer if Mervyn Stewart Skoda had of serviced the vehicle in question in 2018-2019 with the mileage covered would have been significant.
